Coiled tubular heaters
Coiled tubular heaters from KMT Heiztechnik deliver high electrical heating power in minimal installation space: cross-sections from 1.3 × 2.3 mm, watt densities up to 15 W/cm² and almost any geometric shape — straight, coiled or to your contour, supplied from quantity one.
Formable heat
Heat that adapts to your contour.
Where round cartridge heaters and band heaters do not fit, the coiled tubular heater takes over: a compact heating conductor in a stainless steel sheath with rectangular or round cross-section, which can be coiled, bent and shaped into almost any geometry. We supply every cartridge custom-made — from quantity one.
The small cross-sections — from 1.3 × 2.3 mm — allow coil inner diameters from 10 mm at watt densities up to 15 W/cm². Manufactured cylindrically, conically, in meander form or disc-shaped; the unheated length of at least 25 mm brings the connection out of the hot zone.
High power in minimal space
Watt densities up to 15 W/cm² at cross-sections from 1.3 × 2.3 mm — the compact solution where round cartridges and band heaters find no room.
Almost any geometry
Straight, cylindrically or conically coiled, meander- or disc-shaped — with minimum bend radii from 3 mm, depending on the cross-section.
Integrated temperature sensor
On request with sensor directly in the cartridge — the measuring point sits immediately at the coil, with no separate attachment.
From quantity one
From a single spare part to series requirements — also as an exact replacement for third-party products.

Safety notes
Mounting & safety
Proper mounting is a prerequisite for the function, service life and operational safety of your heating system.
!Snug contact — and the connection stays cool
The coiled tubular heater delivers its power via the contact surface — it must sit in full-surface contact with the nozzle, groove or contour. Air gaps lead to local overheating and shorten service life.
- The connection area withstands a maximum of 250 °C — it does not belong in the hot zone.
- Plan for the unheated length (at least 25 mm) in the design — it brings the connection out.
Special shapes are made at the factory to drawing or sample — the cross-section-dependent minimum bend radius (3 – 13 mm) must not be undercut. Subsequent shape changes only after consultation, please.
Mounting check
- 01Seat or groove clean and precisely fitted — no air gap
- 02Embed the cartridge in full-surface contact or fix with a tension band
- 03Do not undercut the minimum bend radius of the cross-section
- 04Plan for the unheated length (min. 25 mm)
- 05Keep the connection area below 250 °C
- 06Choose cable lead-out to match the mounting situation
Range of shapes
Coil shapes & configurations
Cylindrically coiled
The standard shape: coiled around a nozzle or pipe, from ø 10 mm — also tightly wound or with power distribution via the pitch, typical on hot runner nozzles.
Conically coiled
Cone-shaped for conical nozzles and tool contours — the coil follows the geometry exactly.
Meander-shaped
Laid in tracks for heating flat surfaces — for example on welding bars and sealing tools.
Disc-shaped
Wound spirally in a plane for end and contact surfaces. Further geometries to drawing or sample.
Connection & accessories
Cable lead-out radial, axial, tangential or center — protection and fittings depend on your mounting situation.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
No. We supply coiled tubular heaters from a quantity of one — from replacing the heater on a single hot runner nozzle to series requirements. Every heater is manufactured to order according to your specifications.
In addition to the straight and cylindrically coiled designs, also conical, meander and spiral-disc windings — including tightly wound versions or windings with power distribution via the pitch. With minimum bend radii from 3 mm (depending on cross-section), almost any geometric shape is feasible. All we need is your drawing, a sketch or a sample part.
The compact, mostly rectangular cross-section from 1.3 × 2.3 mm: it can be bent and laid directly around nozzles, into grooves or onto contours — wherever there is no room for a cylindrical cartridge. The heat is generated right where it is needed.
Yes, on request we supply coiled tubular heaters with an integrated temperature sensor — the measuring point sits directly on the coil, without a separate attachment. Please state the sensor type and desired position of the measuring point in your inquiry.
PTFE-insulated, nickel-plated copper lead wires — optionally with a glass-silk, metal-link or wire-braid protective sleeve and an optional protective earth conductor. The cable exit can be radial, axial, tangential or centered.
The terminal area with the insulated lead wires tolerates a maximum of 250 °C — significantly less than the 750 °C sheath. The unheated length of at least 25 mm therefore routes the connection out of the hot zone; this is factored in accordingly during sizing.
Yes. Send us the old part or the key data (cross-section, coil diameter, uncoiled length, voltage, power) — we determine the matching design and supply an equivalent replacement, regardless of the original manufacturer.
You provide us with the installation situation, dimensions or coil shape and the electrical data, we check the sizing and clarify any open points directly with you. You then receive a quote; after ordering, the heater is manufactured to order and delivered to you.
