Pinpoint heat

Concentrated power in the smallest space.

Cartridge heaters are the standard element for tool heating: inserted into a mounting bore, they bring high power directly to the point in the tool where it is needed. We supply every cartridge custom-made to your specifications — from quantity one.

Inside, a NiCr 80/20 coil works around a ceramic core, embedded in highly compacted magnesium oxide and enclosed by a stainless steel sheath. The power class — low, medium or high-density — determines how much watt density the cartridge can withstand continuously.

01

Three power classes

From low power density for moderate temperatures to the high-performance class with up to 40 W/cm² — the class depends on power requirements and service-life needs.

02

Robust up to 750 °C

Highly compacted magnesium oxide, NiCr 80/20 heating conductor and stainless steel sheath — resistant to vibration, moisture and frequent temperature changes.

03

Integrated temperature measurement

Sensor directly in the cartridge: thermocouple Type J or K, or PT100, in three measuring point positions. From ø 10 mm, also thermostat or thermal fuse.

04

From quantity one

From a single spare part to series requirements for tool and mold making — also as an exact replacement for third-party products.

The right choice

Three power classes

The power class determines watt density, service life and requirements for the installation situation — we advise you on the selection.

01

Low power density

For applications with moderate temperatures up to about 300 °C. Uncritical fit, economical and designed for maximum service life.

02

Medium power density

The balanced ratio of thermal power and service life — the standard choice for mold and tool making.

03

High-performance

Highly compacted for watt densities up to 40 W/cm² and temperatures up to 750 °C. Requirement: precise mounting bore with H7 fit.

Safety notes

Mounting & safety

Proper mounting is a prerequisite for the function, service life and operational safety of your heating system.

!The fit determines the service life

Heat must flow from the cartridge into the component — this only works with a snug fit in the mounting bore. Every air gap acts as an insulator: heat builds up, the heating conductor overheats, and the cartridge fails prematurely.

  • Machine the mounting bore with H7 fit — clean, burr-free and reamed throughout.
  • Design power conservatively rather than oversizing — the minimum necessary watt density significantly extends service life.
“Every tenth of a millimeter of air gap costs service life.”

For control, the following applies: position the sensor at the hottest point of the tool and favor constant temperatures — hard on/off cycling strains the heating conductor. Choose cable protection to match temperature, media and movement at the installation site.

Mounting check

  • 01Mounting bore H7 — clean & burr-free
  • 02Bore reamed throughout, without steps
  • 03Insert cartridge without force — never hammer in
  • 04Design power conservatively rather than oversizing
  • 05Position sensor at the hottest point
  • 06Favor constant temperatures — avoid hard on/off cycling

Range of designs

Special series & options

On request

Up to 1,000 °C and 60 W/cm² thanks to Incoloy® sheath and double-compacted construction — for applications where standard cartridges reach their limits.

Self-clamping

The cartridge expands radially during heat-up and seats in full-surface contact even in oversized bores — non-destructively removable.

IP67

Dust- and water-tight sealed — for the food sector and environments with regular machine cleaning.

Square cartridge heaters

Square cross-section for surfaces and grooves where round cartridges cannot be secured.

Options & accessories

The full range of designs would exceed any website — here are the most important options. We clarify everything else in the inquiry or send you the catalog.

Integrated temperature sensor (type J, type K or PT100)
Thermostat or thermal cut-off (from ø 10 mm)
Nine connection and lead-exit types — up to 90° angle
Pressure-tight fitting for tanks and vessels
Cable protection from fiberglass to stainless steel braid
Extraction aid for removal
